The Wedding Weekend

Saturday 24th May -

Tuesday 27th May 2025

We are delighted to invite you to the celebration of our marriage...

Tenuta di Sticciano is a historic estate in the Florentine Chianti area, surrounded by silky hills and magical landscapes. The estate is located in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Siena, in the Valdelsa’s territory – known for its breath-taking landscapes, rich in vineyards and olive groves, and for its medieval and poetic corners. The renowned city of San Gimignano is only 22 km away, while the medieval village of Certaldo – also known for being Boccaccio’s birthplace – is only 10 km from the estate.

All three days of our wedding are held at the beautiful Tenuta di Sticciano. We would love if all of our guests could join us by staying at the venue and due to its location, I’m sure you can tell it also makes the most logistical sense.

There will be plenty to keep you busy throughout your time at Tenuta di Sticciano (check schedule for more information) as the place also boasts: 2 swimming pools, plenty of relaxing spaces and rippling landscapes to explore.

With plenty of accommodation, in a traditional rustic Italian style and design, rooms are divided into separate apartments varying in bedroom quantities, all containing bathrooms and a kitchen/ living area.

WE CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO BE THERE!

Getting There...

AIRPORTS

Florence ‘Amerigo Vespucci Airport’

  • 40 min drive away from Tenuta di Sticciano

Pisa ‘Pisa International Airport’ (our recommended airport):

  • 1hr drive away from Tenuta di Sticciano

Although Pisa airport is slightly further away, flights tend to be much more frequent here and therefore cheaper too!

Taxi’s will be an option from the airport, although this is not something we have done as trains are the much more popular mode of transport in Italy due to their reliability (not used to that, are we!) and affordability (who knew trains could be affordable?)

CAR HIRE

Another popular option for Italy (especially if you are planning to extend your trip after the wedding.)

  • Collect from the airport.

  • Free parking at venue (please let us know before arrival)

  • Costs start around 40 euros per day

  • Drop back off at airport

TRAINS

Certaldo

  • 25 min drive away from Tenuta di Sticciano

Journey to/from Florence station ‘Firenze Santa Maria Novella’

is just under 1 hr with no changes.

  • Around 12 euro round-trip.

Journey to/from Pisa International Airport varies between

1hr 10mins to 1hr 40 mins with 1 change at Empoli.

  • Around 16 euros round-trip.

Poggibonsi

  • 32 min drive away from Tenuta di Sticciano

Both journeys’ are practically the same to the above.

MINIBUS

We will have a minibus (20 seater) and Darcy’s dad has very kindly offered to collect anyone from either train station if you have gotten the train or taxi to this point.

We imagine the likelihood of lots of guests arriving at the same time is high and so potentially an airport run or two can be organised – this is something we will need to co-ordinate closer to the time.

YOU MUST HAVE SOME QUESTIONS!

FAQ's

Can I bring a date?

Due to limited capacity, only those on the invite are able to attend.

Are children welcome?

Yes, children of all ages are welcome and bring lots of joy to a wedding, but we also completely understand if parents want to enjoy the celebrations (and a cheeky weekend away) without their little people to think of.

What will the weather be like?

Typically, May in Italy is blue skies and warm temperatures (so keep your figures crossed for us!) Tuscany experiences temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C with the days tending to be warm and comfortable, however, it is advisable to bring a light jacket or cardigan for the cooler evenings, as temperatures can drop slightly.

How far away is the accommodation from the wedding reception?

All accommodation is within a 2-5 minute walk away from the ‘Main Villa’ in which the reception will be held.

What should I wear?

Day 1: WHITE PARTY (An informal white party, shorts, t-shirts, skirts or if you’re feeling fancy, shirts and dresses are all welcome)

Day 2: SPRING WEDDING GLAM (We love all the spring flower colours and very much encourage this alongside a glamourous day in the Tuscan hills. Fascinators are welcome. Heels and all other shoes will be appropriate as walking will be minimal.)

Day 3: BBQ ATTIRE (Pretty self-explanatory.)

Do I have to stay for all 3 days?

Of course, if you have other commitments we completely understand. Where possible we would really appreciate if guests could join us for all the celebrations and immerse yourself in the Tuscan countryside for a few days! Please let us know well in advance if you will be joining late and/or leaving early.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please let us know when you RSVP.

What time does the reception end?

2am!

I have questions not answered here; how do I contact you?
